Want to be a part of the fastest growing sport in America? Don’t miss Raleigh Rugby’s annual Introduction to Rugby Clinic, December 4th – 8th (Register Below). The sport may have a rough reputation, but a study published in the American Journal of Sports Medicine showed that compared to football, the incidence of injury in rugby is quite low (10% compared to 52% in NCAA college football).
And the opportunity for playing in college? Higher than football. Raleigh Rugby boasts a strong championship history, and in 2017, four Rattlesnake Alumni played in College National Championships games. If your child is looking to gain college scholarships, Raleigh Rugby’s youth programs are the place to start.
About the Clinic
WHEN: December 4th-8th from 6:30-8:15 pm every night
WHERE: Poole Road Rugby Complex
COST: Free! (and a free tshirt!)
Designed specifically to introduce new, under 19 players to the sport, in this five day camp, we teach the fundamentals of the game – running with the ball, catching, passing, kicking, scrummaging, line-outs, tackling, rucking, mauling, decision-making and scoring – all built on a foundation of respect, discipline, character and sportsmanship. On the last night, we will hold a controlled scrimmage with USA Rugby referees controlling the match.
The clinic is led by the men’s team head coach with the U19 coaches in assistance. At Raleigh, we want all of our players, every age group and gender, playing rugby the same way. Learn more about our club.
